“I Ain’t Got the Blues Blues”
Sometimes when you’re happy you just gotta let it out
My friends tell me it ain’t right I sing the blues,
I got millions in the bank, it don’t matter what I lose,
Got a real fine job on Wall Street, ain’t strung out on no drugs,
Just won the office pool and my software’s got no bugs,
‘Drive the latest Cadillac — home each day by six,
I’m feeling so complete I just don’t need a fix,
Drink organic herbal tea, never bottom out on booze,
Guess I got a bad case of them “I ain’t got the blues” blues.
Got a real fine roof above me, Lord there’s nothin’ much I lack,
Got two great kids who love me — neither one’s on crack,
A fine wife who adores me — I’m happy with my fate,
On Sundays we go drivin’ cross the miles of our estate,
Private health club membership — 401K too,
Never been on no bad trip and I’m listed in Who’s Who,
So why am I complaining when I’m really not confused?
Guess I got a bad case of them “I ain’t got the blues” blues.
Oh, there’s something ‘bout a man who always has it good,
No one listens to him, he’s not the main man in the hood,
They won’t buy his blues CD, think he’s fakin’ when he prays,
Dis him like he don’t have much to say.
Mmm, but the up side is…
I feel good I don’t feel bad so I’m hardly ever down,
I just can’t seem to wake up on the wrong side of this town,
The only thing that’s…
