Just Say Yes!

We always have a choice. Mindset matters! So does letting go.

Today, driving through a rain storm on my way to the nearest pharmacy to get some medicine, I remembered a moment I experienced in the company of Prem Rawat that was not only breathtaking, but breath-giving.

It was a moment I will never forget, not in this lifetime and not in the next — a fountain of crystal clear spring water I am still drinking from.

There are many tendrils to this story, many roots and branches, but I am learning to be brief these days, so I will cut to the chase.

The year was 2007 and I was the MC for Prem’s birthday event in the San Diego Convention Center. Sitting “in the wings” back stage and waiting for my cue to introduce him, I was experiencing the biggest case of stage fright I had ever experienced.

I was totally petrified, locked up, contorted, constricted, uptight, self-conscious, paralyzed and stuck.

Literally, I was praying for either a bomb scare or a fire so everyone would have to evacuate the building —anything that would get me out of there and not have to walk out on stage in the pitiful condition I was in.

I tried absolutely everything in my “save-the-day” arsenal of stress reduction techniques, but nothing worked.
