Merry Christmas and Happy Everything to My Awesome Son!

This dude is beyond great. I am blessed to know him.

Well, it’s the day before Christmas and I want to take this time to acknowledge my amazing son, Jesse. As they say in the NBA, “he’s got game”, but the game he’s playing goes way beyond sports. His game is more like the game of life — and he has always loved games. You name it, he’s played it — everything from Chutes & Ladders to Monopoly to Stratego to World of Warcraft to Pokemon, Yugio, Geo-Caching and everything in between.

Jesse’s playfulness is one of his most extraordinary qualities. And I can’t recall a time when I’ve ever seen him worry.

This young man, now 28 and recently married to the divine Eva Snyder has understood something about life that many people don’t get until much later — or, sometimes, never.

He knows that life is a play and he is choosing to playing his part. He understands what kindness means and what friendship means and what it means to be himself, no matter what. He is curious, creative, intelligent, funny, flexible, generous, and committed with a healthy dose of insanity. Plus he has over 100 baseball hats and sometimes he even laughs at my jokes.

I have learned a lot from him.
