As of five seconds ago, there were 8,120,572,608 people in the world, speaking 7,000 languages, practicing 4,000 religions, buying 2,500,000 cell phones daily, while living in 195 countries.

And while each of the 8+ billion people on the face of this earth are unique in their own way, they all have some basic commonalities: a shared biological ancestry, the same genetic code, the ability to experience emotions, the tendency to form social groups, cognitive capacity, and the need for air, water and food.

Oh, and at least one other thing — the innate desire for a “better life.”

No matter where a person lives, what they believe, or what language they speak, it’s fair to say that everyone has a built-in aspiration to experience the best possible life they can have.
