Welcome to “Free,” my fifth collection of poetry. I’m glad you’re here.

The essence of my book (to be released on January 15) harkens back to a line from one of Leonard Cohen’s poems: “There’s a crack in everything, that’s how the light gets through.”

My intention with “Free” is to shine a light through this crack and help prevent it from getting any wider — my attempt to share a homeopathic dose of healing, inspiration, gratitude, love, enchantment, and increased receptivity to the experience of what it means to be a soulful human being.

“Poetry is the liquid voice that can wear through stone.” — Adrienne Rich

Each and every day we have a choice of what to pay attention to. We can focus on the darkness, or we can focus on the light. We can retreat into our shells when difficult times come our way or we can stake our ground in a higher, more timeless realm.

My poetry is all about opening up to this higher ground — what it means to experience the divine in daily life.
