What Is a Master?
A long-time student of Prem Rawat asks the age-old question
Throughout history, at least as far as I can tell, there have always been people who have attained a profound level of understanding, wisdom, and consciousness.
Somehow, someway, these extraordinary beings have found a way to go beyond the pain, temporality and suffering of life to experience essence – a state of deep peace and awareness that most of us can only philosophize about.
Some of these extraordinary beings have made it their life’s work to guide others on their journeys, offering all kinds of teachings, inspiration, and support.
When I was 23, I heard about someone who fit this description — Prem Rawat — a young boy from India who was only 13 at the time. There was something about him that I found to be very compelling.
What he was talking about and the way he expressed himself rang very true for me — a loving sword of insight and clarity that cut through the Gordian knot of my own complexity and struggle.
Soon after hearing about his message of peace, I took him up on his offer and received what he called “Knowledge” — a direct experience of my own true nature, the heart of the matter above and beyond all of the particulars of my life.
